FACUA considers banks' refusal to give personal attention to vulnerable consumers illegal

The association criticizes the passivity of the Ministries of Consumer Affairs and Economic Affairs in the face of practices that it denounced to Garzón and Calviño three months ago.

FACUA-Consumers in Action considers that the banks’ refusal to provide personal attention to vulnerable consumers unable to access their services via the internet or ATMs is a violation of banking legislation and the revised text of the General Law for the Defense of Consumers and Users. This illegality also occurs with the charging of commissions to these users for reiterated services and with the closure of branches in sparsely populated areas without giving them alternatives to receive this attention.
