FACUA-Consumers in Action considers that the agreement reached between the coalition government partners to finally approve a housing law has beneficial aspects, but also other aspects that leave much to be desired.

«Of course, it is a great advance that large owners, those who have more than ten homes, may be forced to reduce rental prices if the autonomous communities so impose it,» says the general secretary of FACUA, Rubén Sánchez, who also considers it «good news that city councils can apply a surcharge to the IBI of up to 150% to empty houses«.»Everything will now depend on the interest in guaranteeing the constitutional right to housing that the parties that govern communities and municipalities have.«
